About the 2008 WriteMark New Zealand Plain English Awards

Finalists and winners in the 2008 WriteMark New Zealand Plain English Awards were announced at a gala dinner on 11 September at Shed 5 on Wellington’s waterfront. Hosted by Kevin Milne (of Fair Go) the awards ceremony was another sell-out event!

This year’s awards attracted a record number of entries from all over New Zealand and drew the greatest amount of media attention since the awards began in 2006.

About the awards categories

This year we had two new awards — Best Project and Best Sentence Transformation. And websites were included in the People's Choice awards.
