There are two awards in this category — Best Organisation and Best Individual. The entry requirements for each award are set out below.
This is the premier award. Entrants must show evidence of a successful campaign to create an organisation-wide plain English culture. Examples of evidence include:
Your entry must also include a detailed description of your plain English policy and how it is implemented across your organisation.
Your organisation may have developed its plain English culture independently or in partnership with Write Group Limited.
The winner of this category will receive plain English consultancy and editing services to the value of $10,000 from Write Group Ltd. The prize is to be used on a specific plain English project designed to produce measurable results for the winning organisation (that is, savings in time or money, or both).
The winner will complete the project by 30 June 2008 and will document the results in a project report by 31 July 2008. The winner will present the project report at the WriteMark New Zealand Plain English Awards 2008.
This award is open to any individual who has successfully campaigned for, and helped create, a plain English culture in their workplace.
