\u201cWe are delighted to have had our website named as a finalist in this year\u2019s plain English awards,\u201d said Head of VA, Bernadine MacKenzie. \u201cIt signals to us that we\u2019re getting it right in communicating better with our veterans, which is a number one priority for us\u201d.<\/p>\n

The new website is designed to make it easy for New Zealand Defence Force veterans and their families and wh\u0101nau to find out about the support VA can provide, and how to access it.
\nVA worked closely with the veteran community as the new website came together. \u201cThey were fantastic user-testers for us\u201d, Bernadine said \u201cand we learned a lot from listening to their feedback. Together, we came up with better language, a much less bureaucratic tone, and an easy to follow structure.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe result was what we were all aiming for\u2014something user-friendly and accessible. We know we\u2019ve got more to do\u2014and this award\/being shortlisted for this award is a great motivator for us all.\u201d<\/p>\n
