Lisa manages digital communications for Beef + Lamb New Zealand Ltd — an industry-good organisation that looks after the interests of Kiwi sheep and beef farmers. It’s her mission in life to publish things that people actually want to read.
As a writer, she is passionate about story-telling. As an editor, she understands that even the best stories are improved by plain speaking. That doesn’t mean stifling the pleasure to be had in language. It does mean seeking out and destroying preposterously long sentences; banishing jargon, gobbledygook, policy-speak, and waffle, and shifting the words around until they make sense.
Lisa has worked in journalism and corporate communications since 1998, on newspapers, magazines, and websites here and in the UK. She is based in Wellington, New Zealand.
