At Optimal Usability, our job is all about making things easy and intuitive to use. So when it came time to redesign our website earlier in the year, I put one goal in front of the team — to win a Plain English Award. This forced us to put users front and centre, and at one point we decided to completely rewrite sections of the new site based on client feedback. All this hard work has paid off, and we now attract over twice as many visitors per month than the old site. We never thought we’d actually win the award, but it goes to show what having a Plain English goal can do!
