Plain English Champion — Best Project award — entry requirements

To enter this award, you need to submit a detailed description of a plain English project . It may be an externally focused project or part of an internal plain English project for your organisation. Use the guidelines on the entry form.

Some examples of plain English projects suitable for this category include:

  • a set of brochures or booklets written in plain English
  • template letters rewritten in plain English
  • a website or intranet rewritten in plain English
  • newsletters written in, or promoting, plain English
  • plain English resource material that you have developed  for your organisation.

Present your entry in two parts: project description and supporting evidence.

Project description

Please describe your project in no more than 1500 words, using the three headings below. We have given you some examples of content but you may include whatever information you think supports your entry.

Planning

Content could include:

  • business case for the project ,including project objectives
  • a detailed project plan.

Activities and resources

Content could include:

  • project diary /milestones achieved
  • resources used.

Results to date

Record successes, milestones achieved, and lessons learned, including:

  • business results linked back to business case
  • before and after results
  • other measurable benefits.

Supporting evidence

You can back up your project description with as much supporting evidence as you like. Remember that we need five copies of your entry for the judging process.

Prizes for this award

The winner of this award will receive:

  • a stunning steel and bronze trophy Produced for the Awards by Wellington sculptor Campbell Maude

  • a short brand/image analysis, worth $3,000 (from BrandNew)
